2026 Bright Futures Scholarship (Year 1 Students)

Scholarship Overview  The Bright Futures scholarship is designed to grow with you. Your funding increases every year you stay enrolled and involved with the program. 

Scholarship Funding

  • Year 1: You start with a $1,000 award.
  • Years 2–4: Your award amount increases each year as you progress through your program.
  • Use It or Lose It: You must enroll in college within 3 years of graduating from PCHS. Need a gap year? You can defer for up to 3 years with approval from the Bright Futures College Manager.

Eligibility  To qualify for the scholarship, you must meet these four requirements:

  1. Academic Standing: Have a high school weighted GPA of 3.0 or higher.
  2. Enrollment: Be a full-time student in a 2-year, 4-year, or certificate program.
  3. Other Scholarships: Apply to at least 3 outside scholarships, unless you already have a full ride scholarship.
  4. Stay Connected: Meet with the Bright Futures Counselor (Pepper Elliot) for a budget meeting and review the eligibility checklist to make sure you’ve attended all of the required events and programming.

Important Dates & Events

Mark your calendars—missing these could affect your eligibility!

  • Feb 25, 2026: Parent Night (Attended). If you did not attend, please contact Pepper Elliot, Pelliot@pcschools.us. 
  • April 6, 2026: Application OPENS
  • May 15, 2026: Pre-College Retreat (Must Attend)
  • May 29, 2026: Application CLOSES at 11:59 PM

 Next Steps

  • Double-check that your weighted GPA is at or above a 3.0.
  • Start a list of 3 outside scholarships you plan to apply for. And, apply to them!
